Ever seen a fish swimming via water droplets within the air? As we speak, I realized Panasonic has been cleverly repurposing an out of doors air-con system to provide results like that.

Panasonic calls it “Silky High quality Mist,” and the corporate primarily sells it as a method to beat the warmth. The corporate claims its nozzles use a mix of pressurized water and compressed air to spray mist that’s so high quality (six to 10 microns), it doesn’t really feel moist to the contact. Panasonic says the system has been adopted by “prepare stations and public amenities nationwide” in Japan since its 2019 debut.

However like Disney and many years of different projection mapping technologists, Panasonic shortly realized it may use the fog for artwork installations, too, which it has been testing out since 2018. And extra not too long ago, it’s been bringing a single hidden mist dispenser and projector to a handful of expertise expos to indicate how superb it may look as a chunk of digital signage.

One notice: Panasonic’s system doesn’t appear to be it’s precisely transportable — the one sprayer system it apparently sells in North America is three toes extensive, three toes tall, weighs practically 420 kilos, and consumes 2.4 kilowatts of energy all by itself.

Listed here are a couple of extra examples:

And right here’s a video from Panasonic about the way it works:
