GM plans to put in as much as 500 DC fast-charging ports at stations deployed in “strategic” locations throughout the US, with some outfitted with ChargePoint’s Specific Plus platform that helps cost speeds as much as 500kW. GM and Chargepoint plan to open the stations “quickly, with the areas deployed by the tip of 2025.”
ChargePoint will deliver its Omni Port charging {hardware} for the mission, which might join with automobiles fitted with both CCS or Tesla’s NACS ports in order that house owners typically wouldn’t want to hold an adapter.
“With ultra-fast charging, Omni Port expertise, and wonderful buyer experiences, this collaboration must be one more reason why EV drivers and the EV-curious must be excited,” GM Power VP Wade Sheffer mentioned in a press release.
